The Role

This is a fully remote position but you MUST be physically located within Europe (UTC-1 to UTC+3).

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer at Teylor AG, you will be a crucial member of our tech team, reporting to the Director of Engineering and collaborating closely with the CPTO. You'll be instrumental in conceptualizing, building, and launching new features that power our innovative financial platform.

What Youโ€™ll Be Doing:

  • Collaborate closely with leadership, product managers, and other team members to conceptualize, build, and launch new features.
  • Write production-grade, robust, and well-tested backend code primarily in Go.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve our core financial platform and services.
  • Build seamless integrations with our partner banks and various external financial systems.
  • Ensure high code quality through rigorous testing, peer code reviews, and automation.
  • Contribute actively to Teylorโ€™s evolving remote engineering culture and best practices.
  • Contribute to our north star architecture and engineering strategy

What You'll Need

  • A degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience as a Backend Engineer.
  • 2+ (4+ for senior) years of hands-on backend development experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts.
  • Strong strategic problem-solving abilities and a proactive, independent approach with a can-do attitude.
  • Proven ability to be an excellent team player.
  • Experience working effectively in distributed setups, adhering to remote collaboration best practices.
  • Strong proficiency in GoLang.
  • Solid understanding of Git for version control.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL, particularly Postgres.
  • A proactive "get things done" mentality.
  • A serious and disciplined work ethic, combined with a positive and collaborative spirit.
  • Experience in distributed setups and remote practices for collaboration

Nice to Have

  • Practical experience with AWS cloud services.
  • Experience with serverless/functions/lambda architectures and related technologies.
  • Familiarity with AWS APIs, CloudFormation, or other Infrastructure as Code tools.
  • Understanding of modern build pipelines and CI/CD tools such as Github Actions.
  • Previous experience working in remote teams and within small companies or startups.
  • Exposure to Full Stack development (React and TypeScript).
  • Knowledge of the Finance or FinTech industry.
